Cowboy - Boyer & Talton (Capricorn 1974) Scott Boyer & Tommy Talton With Chuck Leavell, Jaimoe, Randall Bramblett, Charley Hayward, Johnny Sandlin. Cowboy/Boyer & Talton. 29 January ·. RealGone Records has finally received the rights to re-release the "Cowboy/Boyer and Talton" album on . Stay tuned for exact date of release! Cowboy - Patch & Pain Killer. Cowboy - Boyer & Talton (Capricorn 1974) Scott Boyer & Tommy Talton With Chuck Leavell, Jaimoe, Randall Bramblett, Charley Hayward, Johnny Sandlin.

Tommy Talton is an American guitarist who is most noted for having played with Cowboy, Gregg Allman, and numerous recording sessions with Paul Butterfield, Allman Brothers Band, Bonnie Bramlett, Clarence Carter, Corky Laing, Billy Joe Shaver, Richard Betts, Kitty Wells, Martin Mull, Johnny Rivers, and more, the band, We The People. He has released 5 solo albums from 2005 to present

Boyer and Talton would also play on many Capricorn releases during this period. Another Cowboy album followed in 1971. But by 1974, Boyer and Talton were the only remaining members left in the group. Real Gone’s reissues of Boyer & Talton is expanded by two tracks: Time Will Take Us and Where Will You Go from the Gregg Allman on Tour album. Both reissues feature liner notes by Scott Schinder with exclusive quotes from Talton and photos from his private archive. Both have been remastered by Mike Milchner at SonicVision. It is the CD debut for both albums.

Strangely enough, the album contains only three of Laid Back's songs - "Don't Mess Up a Good Thing" opens the show in a properly spirited, earthy manner, but.

Gregg Allman was at his creative peak in the early 70's, and the collective musicianship fill out a full sound that is not exactly Allman Brothers, but is excellent nonetheless. I saw this band perform at the Paramount Theater in Portland, Oregon on this tour, and bought the album immediately. I haven't had it for several years, so it's really nice to hear this music again. You'll probably find the slide guitar a little loose, but their versions of "Dreams" and "Stand Back" are very credible. Tunes from Gregg's "Laid Back" album round out. Great album, Gregg Allman, with Cowboy backing him up. Got this used vinyl and sounds great.
