Truth Serum is the debut extended play (EP) by Swedish recording artist Tove Lo. The singer signed a publishing deal with Warner/Chappell Music in 2011, which led her to write songs for artists like Girls Aloud and Icona Pop. Around that time, she was going through a hard situation in a relationship, so she eventually started composing tracks related to that matter. This March, outside a Stockholm club, musician Tove Lo strapped a 22-pound camera to her chest. An elongated arm-like apparatus allowed her to film herself and surrounded her in a glow of blinding, white lights. She took hold of a friend's hand to guide her and proceeded inside to get wildly drunk and high. Newly signed to Island Records (the same label as Neon Trees and The Killers), she released her first EP, Truth Serum, on March 3, and will release her full-length album by the end of the year. The EP traces a relationship from its inception-with addictive tracks like "Not On Drugs" about new love-to the shattering stages of a breakup with "Over" and "Out of Mind. These are emotional yet assertive songs about the difficulty of moving on; there is also an EDM remix with Hippie Sabotage of "Habits" retitled, "Stay High
