Wildflower is the second studio album by Australian electronic music group the Avalanches. It was first released on 1 July 2016 on Apple Music and widely on 8 July 2016 by Modular Recordings in Australia, by XL Recordings in the United Kingdom, and by Astralwerks in the United States. The album features multiple guest collaborators providing vocals and live instrumentation across its twenty-one tracks
Wildflower" is a song written by Doug Edwards and Dave Richardson in 1972. First performed by the Canadian band Skylark, it has been covered by many artists and more recently has been sampled in a number of hip hop songs. The title, "Wildflower", is not mentioned in the song. The closest line to the title occurs as the final line of the repeated chorus: "She's a free and gentle flower growing wild".

Wildflower Way’, the new album from The Vals, is the work of songwriter Paul Doherty. Produced and written at his home studio in Belfast, the album flows through pop, rock, psychedelia, and folk, creating a supersonic carpet for the ears of the listener.
On 26 September 2014 The Vals released 'Wildflower Way' via Unique Records. The album was preceded by singles 'Quiet Part of Town' and 'I Fall'. Both singles had substantial airplay through-out Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Ireland and the UK. With the release of 2016's Wildflower, the group stages a comeback that sadly falls short of expectations, but still ends up being a pretty good album anyway. In fact, if it hadn't been made by the Avalanches, it may even be a great album. It had a timeless, immaculately constructed sound that was insular in the best way, made by a band of like-minded record geeks merrily toiling away over samplers and vinyl to create something brilliant. All the guest appearances on Wildflower not only wreck that feeling, but they are unnecessary.
The album is turning 16 years old this November, but the band’s lengthy radio silence following its release has made it feel much older. Coming of age as a music fan in the mid-’00s meant looking at The Avalanches the same way you looked at My Bloody Valentine, D’Angelo, and Pavement: they were bands for whom the ship had sailed, phenomena you’d never really be able to experience. Wildflower takes you out into the world. I want to focus on Wildflower’s impressive opening sequence, the chunk of the album that actually improves on Since I Left You instead of replicating its successes with a slightly rosier tone. The older album is stuffed to bursting with hooks, but it’s unconcerned with structure, relying instead on repetition and density.
