Evening Star is the second studio album by British musicians Robert Fripp and Brian Eno. It was recorded from 1974 to 1975 and released in December 1975. This album's recording and the preceding seven show European tour by the duo marked Fripp's first output after disbanding King Crimson and his last before temporarily retiring from music (at the time thought to be permanently) to study at the International Academy for Continuous Education in Sherborne House.

The nearly 30-minute ending piece, "An Index of Metals," keeps Evening Star from being a purely background listen as the loops this time contain a series of guitar distortions layered to the nth degree, Frippertronics as pure dissonance. As a culmination of Fripp and Eno's experiments, Evening Star shows how far they could go. Track Listing.

With "Evening Star", Robert Fripp and Brian Eno take their collaboration one step beyond "No Pussyfooting": while their first album is basically Mr. Fripp's guitar manipulated by Mr. Eno, on this set we hear the two play together. Once again, the pair are able to combine their very different strengths into a coherent whole that results in some of the most beautiful and thoughtful music in the career of either artist. The recording begins with four short (by Fripp-Eno standards) works.

Evening Star (1975) is an ambient album by the British musicians Robert Fripp and Brian Eno. The cover is a painting by the artist Peter Schmidt. Eno had originally intended Fripp to use the material which became Discreet Music as a backing tape to play over in improvised live performances  . All tracks written by Brian Eno and Robert Fripp, except "Wind on Wind" by Eno. Side one. "Wind on Water" – 5:30.

Fripp's guitar is less often recognizable as such; we frequently hear what resembles clouds of bowed strings drifting through each other. When it is recognizable, as on the title track, the guitar phrases seem deeply interwoven with the surrounding sounds rather than roaring over them. The album opens with a quartet of naturalistically themed pieces, evoking water,.
