Crystal Machine is one of those sensational live acts that everyone must hear, and more artists like these should be playing concerts everywhere. The perfect antidote to the boring 'boy-band' and cheesy 'pop-star' overload that is cheapening the music scene nowadays. Tim Blake - Last Ride Of The Boogie Child 7:45. Crystal Machine is a music studio album recording by TIM BLAKE (Progressive ve Rock) released in 1977 on cd, lp, vinyl and/or cassette. 1. Midnight (7:40) 2. Metro Logic (8:07) 3. Last Ride Of The Boogie Child (9:43) 4. Synthese Intemporal (19:30) 5. Crystal Presence (3:11).
The reason Tim Blake is important is because he took the opposite approach entirely. Schooled in Gong and soon to dignify Hawkwind, Blake is a composer first, a technician a very distant second. And if New Jerusalem, his solo debut, represents a peak which electronic rock in general has yet to top, Crystal Machine is at least equal to the task

Recorded in 1977, Crystal Machine is all-instrumental except for odd snatches of vocals on Last Ride Of The Boogie Child. Midnight typically rides out on bass pulses topped by melodic lines and an iridescent sheen of rippling, teeming synths. It orbits in a part of the same galaxy as Tangerine Dream and Jean-Michel Jarre – who were using similar technology – but Blake’s own idiosyncratic ideas shine through. On Blake’s New Jerusalem we are reminded that in the late 70s New Age was a more meaningful idea than its current association with anything insubstantially hippie-dippy. The idea had grown up through the counterculture and referred to a transitional period in the development of humankind. On A Song For A New Age with acoustic and glissando guitar, Blake is looking for enlightenment just as his namesake William was in his poem And Did Those Feet.
Blake’s debut album, Crystal Machine, was originally released in 1977 on the French experimental label Egg and featured two pieces recorded live in the UK and in France. This work was followed by arguably his finest work, Blake’s New Jerusalem in 1978. Unlike his previous work, the album featured songs and the lengthy title-track would dominate the album’s second side. Tim returned to the music scene with the album Magick in 1991, recorded at his home studio in a windmill in Brittany. Although he made occasional live appearances, it would be nine years before he would return with a new album, The Tide of the Century. Recorded once again at his Windmill studio, the album featured a host of fine songs and music. In 2002 Tim recorded and released Caldea Music II, a work especially commissioned by the Caldea Spa centre in Andorra.
