The Moody Blues - Every Good Boy Deserves Favour download album

Every Good Boy Deserves Favour is the seventh album by The Moody Blues, released in 1971. This album featured the only track to be written by all five members of the band. The opening "Procession" was a piece that was intended to describe the history of music from the beginning of time up until the album's recording. The only three words heard in this track – "desolation," "creation," and "communication" – were similarly used (along with many other "-ation" words) in "One More Time to Live.

The best-realized of their classic albums, Every Good Boy Deserves Favour was also the last of the group's albums for almost a decade to be done under reasonably happy and satisfying circumstances - for the last time with this lineup, they went into the studio with a reasonably full song bag and a lot of ambition and brought both a. Nice to Be Here," and "My Song" are among the best work the group ever did, and "The Story in Your Eyes" is the best rock number they ever cut, with a bracing beat and the kind of lyrical complexity one more expected out of George Harrison at the time. Sad to say, the group would never be this happy with an album again - at least not for a lot of years - or with their commitment to being a group, though they would leave one more highly worthwhile album before taking a hiatus for most of the rest of the 1970s.

It is perhaps the most obscure of the seven albums, with one major hit and eight other songs which have made their way into few, if any, Moodies compilations.

Notes on bonus material:
Track 10: Recorded at Wessex Studios - 4th to 9th November 1970.
This Superb Justin Hayward composition was recorded during the first session for the album that became "Every Good Boy Deserves Favour". Essentially performed live in the studio the version presented here features Justin's original vocal track (treated with a delayed reverb effect) and an extended guitar solo.

Track 11: Recorded at Wessex Studios - 9th November 1970.
This joint Tay Thomas and Justin Hayward composition was one of the first songs to be commited to tape during the initial sessions for "Every Good Boy Deserves Favour". Recorded "live" at Wessex Studios, it was later discarded to make way for other compositions thought worthy of further work and was consigned to the vaults until research for this expanded CD reissue revealed the existence of this initial "work in progress" studio version.
