Led Zeppelin's 1971 North American Tour was the seventh concert tour of North America by the English rock band. The tour commenced on August 7 and concluded on 17 September 1971. It included two warm-up shows in Montreux, Switzerland. This tour took place just prior to the release of the band's fourth album. The band had hoped to release this album in time for the tour, but various delays prevented this from occurring.

Led Zeppelin is exactly as its name implies; heavy – yet at times, smooth and flowing. While they have been written off by many rock critics as loud and repetitious, on this they were very powerful and creative and they had only begun a set that was to last nearly three hours. They tried to end the set and or course, all 16,500 fans went wild and stomped and screamed until Zeppelin reappeared with a balloon which they proceeded to kick around like a soccer ball. They jammed, loud and clear to cap a long happy concert and even the firecrackers and stage area street fighting couldn’t ruin the beautiful vibrations created by a mature, polished hard rock group.

The Rolling Stones American Tour 1972. The Rolling Stones American Tour 1972 was a much-publicized and much-written-about concert tour of the United States and Canada in June and July 1972 by The Rolling Stones. Constituting the band's first performances in the United States following the Altamont Free Concert in December 1969, critic Dave Marsh would later write that the tour was "part of rock and roll legend" and one of the "benchmarks of an er.

Led Zeppelin’s 1976 soundtrack and concert souvenir is bloated, boring and filled with zero musical tension. Maybe it had to with the earlier tour (The Song Remains the Same was recorded during three shows at Madison Square Garden almost a year later), or maybe the audience just fueled the band better; whatever the case, Led Zeppelin sound like unbeatable monsters of rock on How the West.
