Abami Eda! Fela Kuti. 24 June at 08:15 ·. Name that song.

Fela's album output slowed in the 1990s, and eventually he stopped releasing albums altogether. In 1993, he and four members of the Afrika '70 organization were arrested for murder. The battle against military corruption in Nigeria was taking its toll, especially during the rise of Sani Abacha. Fela Anikulapo-Kuti and the Egypt '80 Band, 1984, recorded live at Glastonbury, England (Yazoo). Fela Kuti: Teacher Don't Teach Me Nonsense & Berliner Jazztage '78 (Double Feature), 1984 (Lorber Films). Femi Kuti - Live at the Shrine, 2005, recorded live in Lagos, Nigeria (Palm Pictures).

Oluseun Anikulapo Kuti (born 11 January 1983), commonly known as Seun Kuti, is a Nigerian musician and the youngest son of legendary afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti. Seun leads his father's former band Egypt 80. Seun and his brother Femi are the two commercially successful musical offspring of the late Nigerian afrobeat innovator Fela Kuti. Seun has one younger sister who used to sing in his band. At the age of nine Seun expressed the wish to sing to his father.

Zombie is a studio album by Nigerian Afrobeat musician Fela Kuti. It was released in Nigeria by Coconut Records in 1976, and in the United Kingdom by Creole Records in 1976. The album criticised the Nigerian government; and it is thought to have resulted in the murder of Kuti's mother Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti, and the destruction of his commune by the military.

I personally like Fela Anikulapo Kuti. I grew up listening to his music and I really admire him. I have a collection of his songs in mp3 format which gets a lot of play time, but this is the worse dvd I ever purchased let alone seen. To me the total of two songs for the entire dvd performed by Fela is not worth the media it was burned on. The sound quality is really bad and the video quality is just plain dispicable

Fela Kuti was born "Fela Ransome Kuti" in Nigeria in 1938. His first band were the "Koola Lobitos" which he renamed to "Nigeria 70" during a tour in the USA around 1969. The band was again renamed to "Africa 70" when he returned to Nigeria. Around 1976 Fela changed his name to "Fela Anikulapo Kuti" ("Anikulapo" meaning "he who carries death in his pouch"). Later, around 1979 he formed a new band or changed the name of the band again (?) to "Egypt 80".
