If there’s one thing this world will always need, it’s a late-night driving anthem, and Modern Lovers features one of the best. Although Jonathan Richman is something of a weary traveler himself, his knack for extracting love and humor from portraits of mundane Americana and teenage disarray goes unmatched
The cover was very cool. From what I saw online, there are a bunch of different covers, but I like the cover above the best. It isn’t Ranger’s Apprentice, but it was great! I would definitely recommend to all those who liked adventures! I can’t wait to read the rest of the series! Title: The Outcasts.

Frustration’ was later re-recorded for the 1982 LP ‘Blood & Thunder’. Just Another Teenage Rebel’, ‘Love Is For Sops’ (Good Vibrations, 1978) captures the Outcasts at their best, punk rock with a pop edge, both tracks are classics. Came in the trademark Good Vibes foldout poster sleeve in several different colours, a 2nd pressing was issued in early 1979 with a different cover. The Cops Are Comin’ (Good Vibrations, 1979) was released as part of a double single package ‘Battle Of The Bands’ featuring three other local bands, namely Rudi, Spider and the Idiots. A nasty little tale about.
Punks got older and more articulate in their frustration and rage, while many veteran artists responded to that movement’s challenge with their most vital work in years. And rap transformed the face - and voice - of popular music. The first 10 entries here span the Clash’s polyglot punk, Prince’s crossover funkadelica, Afro-bop from Talking Heads and Paul Simon and hymns of innocence and experience by U2 and Tracy Chapman. Best-of lists such as this one are by nature subjective. But rock in the Eighties was like that - lively, varied, contentious and, to some degree, inconclusive. Looking at the best rock has had to offer in the Eighties, it’s clear that there’s plenty of life left in the old beast yet. The next revolution may be just around the corner.
