Sir Alan William Parker CBE (born 14 February 1944) is an English film director, producer and screenwriter. Parker's early career, beginning in his late teens, was spent as a copywriter and director of television advertisements. After about ten years of filming adverts, many of which won awards for creativity, he began screenwriting and directing films. Parker is noted for having a wide range of filmmaking styles and working in differing genres.

Director's Cut is the ninth studio album by English singer and songwriter Kate Bush that she released in May 2011. It contains no new material: it is only made up of songs from her earlier albums The Sensual World and The Red Shoes which have been remixed and restructured, three of which were re-recorded completely. It was Bush's first album release since 2005's Aerial and the first on her own record label, Fish People.

Alan Frederick Parker (born 26 August 1944) is a British guitarist and composer. Parker was born in Matlock, Derbyshire, and was trained by Julian Bream at London’s Royal Academy of Music. He had a successful career as session guitarist, starting in the late 1960s, and played with Blue Mink, The Congregation, Collective Consciousness Society and Serge Gainsbourg. Parker's later work comprised compositions for film and television. His television work includes Angels, Minder, The Glory Boys, Dempsey and Makepeace, French Fields, Red Fox, ITN's News At Ten, and the BBC series Walking with Cavemen and Coast. His film scores include Jaws 3-D (1983), American Gothic (1988), What's Eating Gilbert Grape (1993) and Alex Rider: Stormbreaker (2006). Parker is also known to have purchased at auction Jimi Hendrix's Epiphone acoustic, which was the musician’s longest-owned guitar.
