Queen At The BB. 973. Modern Times Rock N Roll. wmv - Продолжительность: 6:28 Classical Music.

At the Beeb is a live album by the English rock band Queen, released on vinyl, cassette tape, and CD in 1989. The album comprises tracks recorded in two sessions for the BBC Radio 1 Sound of the 70s programme. The first four tracks were recorded on 5 February 1973; the rest were recorded on 3 December 1973.

This album contains Queen's first and third BBC sessions, which were later released alongside the remaining four sessions as 'On Air' in 2016. Great King Rat' and 'Modern Times Rock 'n' Roll' also swapped positions compared to 'On Air'. The album was released for the first time in the USA as 'Queen At The BBC' in 1995.

Drawing from Queen's first and third BBC sessions, in February and December 1973, the eight tracks are divided between the band's first two albums - seven from Queen, one (a passionate "Ogre Battle") from what was then the still-gestating Queen II. And they are what you'd expect, vast and bombastic, widescreen epics that make no distinction between the hard rock that was the early Queen's most visible calling card, and the fey, quirky balladry that was the trick up their sleeves

But they've yet to sign a major recording deal. However, the enterprising folk at Radio One book vocalist, pianist Freddie Mercury, guitarist Brian May, bassist John Deacon, and drummer Roger Taylor for a session with producer Bernie Andrews. It is to be broadcast on Sounds Of The '70s, and four tracks are laid down on February 5th, viz My Fairy King, Keep Yourself Alive, Doin' Alright, and Liar

Queen At The BBC Import. The first three tracks are very similar to those that would appear on the first Queen album (although the guitar on Doin’ Alright has far less punch on the BBC recording). Liar, though, cuts loose and is very good. But then the December recording would have been just ahead of the tour that saw Queen play at the Rainbow theatre in March of 1974, and what an amazing concert that was. Just as with the Rainbow concerts, that saw the band move up a gear between March.
