Goan musician Remo Fernandes who performed in Mumbai last night, talks on what ails his home state, upgrading his previous works and why he’s not a part of Bollywood. Performing solo on an acoustic guitar, he sang old Portuguese and Goan tracks. I sang songs close to my heart that the regular rock audience don't appreciate. I also improvised with the tabla, says Remo. So did the audience get to hear the Goan vibe evident in his earlier songs or was something amiss again? This question has become so stale. Everyone knows that Goa has gone to the dogs. Remo was in the news recently for the song, India Against Corruptio. n support of anti-graft activist Anna Hazare. The song was released on YouTube. Luís Remo de Maria Bernardo Fernandes (born 8 May 1953) is an Indian singer, with naturalized Portuguese citizenship. Known as a pioneer of Indian pop music he performs pop/rock/Indian fusion and is also a film playback singer. His musical work is a fusion of many different cultures and styles he's been exposed to as a child in Goa and in his later travels around the world. He continued writing his own songs, playing solo or playing with different bands including one of India's top most recording artists, 'The Savages'. In these albums he played all the instruments, sang all voices, and was the only composer of its music and lyrics. He engineered the recording and mixing and designed the album covers.

Still GOAN CRAZY (Teaser). I first recorded this album on a 4-track cassette Portastudio and released it in 1984. It instantly became the highest selling Goan album ever. But I've always wanted to leave these songs behind in better quality. On the album's 30th Anniversary, in 2014, I have released this re-recording, of which here's a teaser medley. Same music, lyrics, arrangements, styles. Just a better, cleaner, digital recording. Except perhaps "Ode To Graham Bell", because the telephones in Goa finally work now.
